Actress, Model, Writer, Producer: Celeste Thorson (Jan. 6th)


Celeste Thorson is a young film and television writer, producer, and actress best known for her starring role in two seasons of the tv series Destination X and comedic roles on hit shows like How I Met Your Mother and Jimmy Kimmel Live.  As an action heroine in Destination X Hawaii and California, Celeste filmed her own stunts like sky diving, rappelling off cliffs, scuba diving, mountain biking, flying fighter jets, and swimming with sharks.

The show airs to hundreds of millions of viewers in over 60 countries around the world.  Thorson has also written 24 episodes of television for shows like Josh and JB in the Industry and Destination X and is currently working on several screenplays and teleplays.  Celeste Thorson is an award winning model with billboards, editorial, and fashion campaigns stretching from Latin America to Asia for clients like Reebok, Paul Mitchell, Body Glove, Yoplait, Sprint, Nokia, Samsung, and Toms Shoes. 

Thorson's exotic multi-ethnic appeal is attributed to her diverse heritage; Korean, Irish, Lebanese, Spanish, and American Indian.  She was born in Orange County, California and grew up in Southern California, New Mexico, Texas, and Mexico.  During her early teens she traveled to San Miguel de Allende Mexico where she studied at the historic Instituto Allende, a classical art academy.  An artist of many mediums she has studied painting, sculpting, bronze casting, jewelry making and performing arts.

At the age of 17, Thorson moved back to the US and settled in Los Angeles where she pursued political activism.  She is notorious for her commitment to human and environmental rights and has worked with non-profits like Save the Children, The Sierra Club, Calpirg, and HRC.   50% of the profits from the sale of her merchandise and designs are donated to charity.  Celeste is passionate about travel, outdoor sports, art, music and equal rights.

Author: Mo Stegall, "Against all Odds: I CAN BE" on "VeeVee's POV (December 30th)

A visionary, pioneer and journeyman, Mo Stegall transcends any medium he touches. From media personality and producer to philanthropist, empowerment speaker and author, his creativity, wit and engaging persona have earned him recognition as an emerging community leader.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Stegall has enjoyed a successful career as a radio and television personality, which afforded him opportunities to work with the BET Hip-Hop Awards the CMA Awards, and countless recognizable entertainers and community leaders. As a child, he dreamed of being a sports commentator and imagined himself playing Nintendo and Sega video games in front of large crowds.

His vision to connect with people through media became a reality when, in 2002, he launched his own talk and entertainment show entitled The S.E.L.F Show. Now as Executive Producer, the show has been coined "The Voice for Youth" and is viewed in more than 30 countries around the world. He is also the creator and host of the online syndicated radio talk show entitled Talk About It Today! With Mo Stegall.

Author: Melvin H. Kirschner, MPH, MD, on "VeeVee's POV (December 16th)

After medical training at the University of Southern California and the Los Angeles County General Hospital, Dr. Kirschner entered medical practice in the San Fernando Valley as a family physician.

In 1961 there were very few doctors with his public health experience. This soon led to volunteering in various health related programs, such as the Regional Medical Disaster Program, the Red Cross Disaster and Blood program, the Home Health Association, Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice, several committees on biomedical issues, adviser to the California Health Law Revision Committee, Single Payer Health Care for All, Physicians for a National Health Plan, California Physicians Alliance and other health-related activities.

He has also written numerous articles, letters and Op Ed pieces and appeared on radio, television and lectured on health care issues at many venues. Recently retired from medical practice, he continues to volunteer for many health oriented community programs.

This book is a collection of essays by Dr. Kirschner, regarding some of the many unresolved health care, pharmaceutical and insurance issues that his patients have shared with him during his forty-seven years of family medical practice.

About his latest book, All Medicines Are Poison!: Making Your Way through the Medical Minefield

In this book, "All Medicines are Poison!," Melvin H. Kirschner, MPH, MD, sets out to remove the fog of confusion that clouds the landscape patients are required to navigate in their search for health care today. This book describes the risks and benefits associated with the use of medicines, and explores the validity of other treatment modalities referred to as "Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). He discusses the numerous failings and backroom dealings in the pharmaceutical and insurance industries, and highlights possible solutions to many of these current concerns.

Dr. Kirschner has had an extensive career in the healthcare field. He has championed patient's rights throughout his career. As one of the key physicians instrumental in the enactment of the first biomedical ethical guidelines in the world, he has always strived for close doctor/patient relationships where the patient's concerns always come first.

Songwriter/Producer: Brazil Bennett, on "VeeVee's POV (December 9th)

Brazil Bennett is a Memphian with a cause. Bennett wrote and produced the entire 13-song collection for the self titled soundtrack, "My Brotha-My Sista". In the stage play, Bennett holds multiple titles in the play's foundation; She is stage manager, songwriter, music producer, and one of the singers for the soundtrack. 

Bennett has been writing music since she was 14 and books since she was 24. Now age 30, Bennett has signed a major publishing contract with Mega Publishing Company, Tate Publishing..., to publish her book "A Symphony of Lies". Bennett's publishing peers include celebrity T.V. stars-Cody & Cody, Tate Music Group Recording Artist-Reggie Ham, who recently appeared on the Oprah Show, and potential label-mate..., Legendary Country Music Entertainer, Kenny Rogers. 

In her spare time, Bennett holds a strong passion for advocacy work. 
Being one to prefer the "Behind The Scenes Life Style" as opposed to a life open to public eye, Bennett has now teamed up with Hit Stageplay Writer, Liz Turner. Together with Turner, Bennett is now stepping out into the scene and reaching greater career-heights.

Nutritional Scientist: Dr. Thienna Ho, on "VeeVee's POV (Dec. 2nd)

Dr. Thiênna Ho, is the creator of The Sulfur Diet. She is considered to be one the world’s leading experts in human skin color and skin health. She has earned five academic degrees, including a Ph.D in Scientific Nutrition.

She has triumphed over incredible adversity. Thirty years ago, Thiênna Ho and her family were Vietnamese boat people. She was 11 years old when she survived a brutal attack by Thai pirates during their voyage to their new home in San Francisco.

Writer/Producer: Elizabeth "Liz" Turner, on "VeeVee's POV (November 18th)

Elizabeth Turner was born and raised in the beautiful state of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  She is the youngest of 5 children whom were all raised in Happy Hill Gardens, which were the projects. She had her first child at the age of 17 and from there her life was one rocky road. Today, she is the mother of 3 wonderful children, David 21, Brittany 18 & Eric 14. She also has a grandson, Jayden 14 months old. She left NC back in 2004 headed for Florida to follow an unknown dream.

She has been writing poetry and stories since she was in elementary school. Once she settled in Jacksonville Florida she decided to continue writing and one day decided to write a stage play. At the time she wasn’t sure what she was going to call it but she knew that it was going to be about brotherhood and sisterhood. She has experiences so much in her lifetime including being homeless that she felt the need to try to help at least one person.

Today, she has a 17 cast member play titled “My Brotha-My Sista” that is set to debut in January 2011. The production has been asked to be brought to several states and cities throughout the United States.  This production will be available on DVD as well as a soundtrack that is currently in the production stage as we speak. Also, she has a book of poetry titled “Not Looking Back” that will be available in December.

Writer/Producer: Saprina Willis, on "VeeVee's POV (November 11th)


Saprina Willis is a native of Syracuse, NY and currently resides in Raleigh, NC. She is married with 4 children and works as a nurse although her first passion is acting/writing. She has done theatre work with the Paul Robeson Center of Syracuse, NY, where she played ''Young Mary McLeod Bethune'' in a tribute to Mary McLeod Bethune. 

She has performed in other stage plays such as ''Bang No More'', ''Life, Love and the Pursuit of Happiness’’, and also appeared as an extra in the movie '' Notorious B.I.G.’’ This definitely will not be the last time seeing Saprina as she climbs the wall of success.

Corey Washington is a middle school social studies teacher currently teaching at Tutt middle school in Richmond County, Augusta, Georgia.  He is also an author, blogger, and journalist.  He is the author of “Plain Talk Volumes I and 2” (a two part series designed to promote cultural diversity and awareness).  He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Middle Grades Education from Augusta State University.


Born in New York City in 1976, he has grown up in a cultural/racial melting pot. In the mid-1980s, he moved to Aiken, South Carolina in the fifth grade. Ever since 1992, he has lived in Augusta, Georgia and considers it a perfect fit.


His love for history has spurred his love for writing. His other hobbies include playing and watching basketball, tennis and baseball, fishing, and above all, reading the Bible every day.
